Keps
Keps is a chair series designed to be tough and durable and has thus become a tried and true part of our range because it functions so well in all manner of environments. The armchair has a grip-friendly armrest that makes it easy to sit down on and get up from. The rounded end of the armrest is popular with older users as it is pleasant to the touch. The XL armchair has extra generous dimensions and is tested to a user weight of 140 kg.

Bo Armstrong trained as an architect and is from Gothenburg, Sweden. Bo has worked with industrial design all his working life. He is particularly interested in designing furniture for public rooms, especially in wood. Read more
Bo Armstrong trained as an architect and is from Gothenburg, Sweden. Bo has worked with industrial design all his working life. He is particularly interested in designing furniture for public rooms, especially in wood. He prefers to utilise the structure of the material in the design process, building on this structure in various ways. Bo has close to 40 of his chair designs in production with various furniture producers and is still active as a designer. A high level of seating comfort is a common denominator and one of the hallmarks of all his chairs and easy chairs.
For Albin i Hyssna, he has designed many items of furniture and furniture series over the years. We feel that his design language and feeling for quality and details fits very well with what we want to convey and deliver to our customers.
“Quality has to take its own time”
“I have been working with Albin i Hyssna for three decades. For me, it’s essential to get to know my clients and their customers to be able to create a piece of furniture that on the one hand is very comfortable to sit on, and on the other is high quality to withstand the demands of public rooms. I have spent an infinite number of hours in the factory in Hyssna developing prototypes and benefiting from the enormous amount of knowledge that they have there. The process from drawing to completed, functioning product often takes 2 to 3 years. There are no templates for how function and form achieve their full potential. This is particularly apparent when working with wood, which is a living material. You have to experiment, make adjustments and work out the joins and other details that will ultimately make the big difference when the piece is compared with others. You can’t hasten quality. The reward is a piece of furniture that is durable year after year. I believe that Albin i Hyssna is one of Sweden’s foremost producers of chairs and sofas."
